Dear Blissologists:

We are so happy to welcome you to Align your Yoga, Align your Life 1.

This course is about uplevelling not just our yoga but also our relationship with gravity. It is a "User’s guide to gravity."

This yoga is not just about stretching + strengthening, but how to make our bodies function as well as possible in all we do. It is about feeling and functioning at our optimal level.

There are two main problems with modern yoga:

We aren’t educated enough about the intention of the poses. So we try to reach goals that shouldn’t be goals. We try and practice “End Point Yoga” This creates “Go-Arounds” (You will know what this means soon.). We will lay out the intention for each family of poses and clearly show you the most skillful way of reaching this intention.

Secondly, we are too passive and collapse from "top to bottom" in the poses. We don’t expand into the support of 3 dimensions. This can overly compress our joints. We are going to learn how to control the distribution of tension and compression. So we can be as balanced and healthy as possible. The feels amazing but it has a very beneficial effect on our joints and tissues, as well.

There are Six Lecture Blocks in the Course

  • Session 1 is about my history and how I learned to heal myself from an injury

We will take an overview of Blissology Principles and “Yoga Taxonomy”

  • In Session 2, we work on Core Line Poses
  • In Session 3, study Back Body Stretches
  • In Session 4, take a deep dive into Front Body Stretches
  • Session Session 5, we will examine Lateral Side Body Stretches
  • In Session 6, we will explore Medial Side Body Stretches.

We will look deeply at the Pelvic Movements and how to “Steer the Bones” for each family of poses. This will give us the most Stretch, Stability + Space in the Poses

You will love the way you feel when you do this work. To help you understand these principles, we have included vinyasa flow practices. You can take these skills in the dance of vinyasa yoga without starting and stopping. This allows you to really feel the knowledge we’ve gained in the lectures.

Every day I am grateful for yoga and this approach. It’s made my body feel better with every passing year. We have had thousands of students who have made their yoga more healing and customized fro the needs of their body and not one sized fits all. I know you will feel the same.
